A week to focus on all things green, sustainable and environmental. Various events will be taking place in the town this week. It is the UK's celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.
Henley retailers and restaurants are encouraged to display a 'Green' window or a 'Green Dish of the Week' where they highlight vegetarian and vegan options.
Saturday 10th June - A super green Fair in the Town Hall with a host of green stalls, activities to learn about biodiversity, trees, bees, drinking water. As well as artwork by local children on display and presentation of an Environmental Science Challenge award. Kids can enjoy felt making and crafting insects. Honeys of Henley will give a bee talk at 11am and Pavillion Foods will be doing a 'Plant vs Beef' Taste test.
Sunday 11th June - Henley Churches will be dedicating services to the environment and Badgemore School Gardening Club are opening up their grounds for a family-friendly scavenger hunt.
Monday 12th June - 'Green Gardeners' Question Time: A discussion on gardening and environmental panel led question and answer session at Henley Rugby Club. More details here
Also a guided walk to see wildflowers on Mill and Marsh Meadows and identifying what is edible or not. More details here
Wednesday 14th June - A working Party will meet at Mill Meadows car park at 9.30am and at 5pm at D:Two a free seminar where local businesses come together to share stories of sustainability and working towards net zero.
Thursday 15th June - Regal Picturehouse Cinema will show 'Fashion Reimagined' and take part in a panel discussion with live Q&A.
Friday 16th - A fun evening of swaps of preloved and vintage clothing at the 'Swaparama Razzmatazz' fashion event.
Sunday 18th June - Paddleboard River Clean with the Warriors of Waste.
