Henley-on-Thames will sparkle even brighter this December as the town unveils a brand-new festive experience: Shop Under the Stars, a late-night shopping event bringing together the very best of Henley’s independent shops, seasonal treats, and live entertainment.

Taking place on Friday 5th December 2025 the evening invites residents and visitors alike to enjoy a magical Christmas atmosphere in the heart of the town. From the twinkle of the Christmas lights to the sound of live music filling the Market Place, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

On Friday 28^th November, the town will hold its Annual Christmas Festival and Lights Switch on. Then the following Friday, it is all about the high street for this extra late night event – Shop Under the Stars – to enjoy the Christmas lights and embrace everything our amazing high street shops have to offer.

What’s Happening

• Live festive music and entertainment in the Market Place denizen performing from 4:00pm – 5:30pm and Freddie and the Freeloaders from 6:00pm – 7:30pm
• Over 25 shops open late until 8pm— ideal for ticking off Christmas lists and supporting Henley’s brilliant local businesses
• Christmas huts offering gifts, treats, and seasonal delights
• Queen Anne School’s Pop-Up Food Trailer serving delicious hot chocolate and mulled wine to keep shoppers cosy

Henley’s Christmas 2025 offering is looking bigger and better than ever with the stunning town centre tree set to be decorated by Party Planners, Christmas Festival and Light Switch on happening Friday 28^th November, Christmas Huts in the Market Place from 4^th to 14^th December plus the Living Advent Calendar each night throughout December and now this new event too….
