Salary SCP 34-39 £30,153 - £34,538 full time equivalent (pay award pending)

Inital 2 year fixed term contract

We are looking for a brilliant professional with a passion for Planning, Development and 'blue sky thinking'.  This is a challenging position working for Henley on Thames Town Council as Planning and Project Manager.

You will have an interest in being in the thick of planning and infrastucture projects which have a far reaching impact on the future of this historic market town. You willl have a basic knowledge of planning policy and legislation - or demonstrate that you will be keen and quick to learn.  You may already have experience of working in the public sector or in a planning office. You may already have experience of working on a Neighbourhhood Plan. You MUST have the ability to operate with complete impartiality in a political environment where the Town Councillors are heavily engaged with doing their best for the town.

This is a senior managerial position where you will act as a key point of contact between the Town Council, South Oxfordshire District Council, local businesses and the community. You will supervise day to day work and lead more challenging projects from research and consultation with professionals to delivering advice and recommendations. The successful applicant will also demonstrate the ability to act a senior level within the Town Council and be prepared to deputise for the Town Clerk when appropriate.
